I work in IT and use UniFi stuff. Who I am otherwise is unimportant, other than to say I don't work for Ubiquiti.
This is a project that started as I listened to Marco, John, and Casey fumble through trying to recommend UniFi hardware in ATP.fm episodes 637 + 638. I love the show and these guys but there's too many factors to make a "simple" recommendation. Hence, now, there's a website. This is really intended to be a quick, simple answer to "what kind of stuff should I be buying?" If you want something more in depth, you should probably talk to someone who does this professionally. (Worst case: ask me on bsky, link below.)
Uh, buy something else I guess? Sorry, I'm really just making this as broad as possible. It's not gonna hit every edge case.
Cool...? There's 6/6E versions of everything. Go buy that. Or don't.
I don't think it's good for the beginner use cases which is what I outline here.
My dude, that is not a question. Furthermore, I do not care. Please go look at pictures of kittens to calm down.
Again, that is not a question. Also, sorry - I give you the name so you can search the UI site for the thing you probably want.
Yeah man, Unifi stuff goes in and out of stock quickly. Tell me about it. (Again please don't, there is no audience participation.)
Nnnnnnnope. Congrats, you know more than what this tool is really for.
This is for informational purposes only.
My day job is IT, but this isn't a specific recommendation.
I don't work for Ubiquiti, I just like their stuff.
If this was helpful, let me know over on Bluesky.
